Interim President, Virginia State University

Dr. Hammond will discuss the issues facing higher education today, especially those confronting HBCU.  On November 13, 2014, Dr. Pamela V. Hammond was named as the Interim President of Virginia State University, a Historically Black College or University (HBCU) located in Chesterfield County, Virginia.

Dr. Hammond earned the Doctor of Philosophy degree in 1992 from Old Dominion University in Urban Services with a concentration in Educational Leadership. She also earned the Master of Science degree in maternal-child health and nursing education from the University of Maryland and a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Tuskegee University.
